How are you feeling about the injury and your current situation?

Are you noticing thoughts:
“I can’t do…”,
“I’m sick of…?”,
“Why has this happened…?”,
“When am I going to be able to…?” etc.

Maybe you’re finding that these thoughts are diminishing your ability to actualise your day and maintain relationships; with important people in your life and professionals in your team; GP, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, exercise physiologist, etc.

Via a therapeutic relationship based on empathy, genuineness and non-judgment, we can together understand your ‘frame of reference’, explore inhibiting perceptions and foster psychological/social and emotional hope and behavioural growth.

What Counselling is Provided?

I utilise a range of modalities to best-fit the client’s stage and ability, typically motivational counselling, loss/grief, solution focus, cognitive behavioural and narrative.

One to five sessions is useful in the short-term, with potentially follow-up after a break to review progress.

You will ideally be at the mid-late recovery phase of your rehabilitation.

Where to Start?

I’m interested in hearing from you.

I suggest you start by discussing with your GP, allied health professional team and a supportive family member/friend.

You or your GP or allied health professional can click the ‘request a discovery chat’ link and provide your details with a brief sentence or two about your requirements, along with a good time to return your call.

It may take a day or two for me to respond to your contact, then we’ll briefly discuss; suitability, a beginning plan and thereafter commence online counselling at agreed times.

Frequency of online appointments and duration of the working relationship can be tailored to your specific requirements.

Sessions are available:
Wednesdays 9am-5pm ACST
Thursdays 9am-5pm ACST
Alternative or after-hours sessions are negotiable at increased rates.

Frequently Asked Questions

What injury? Do I qualify for assistance?

The sorts of injuries which see us presenting to medical and allied health professionals for example, post-surgery rehabilitation, soft-tissue injury, etc.

How does counselling happen?

The online counselling environment means that you don’t have to make arrangements to go anywhere.

However, you do need to have suitable equipment; computer, laptop or tablet with camera and audio facility, plus a private space at home for ZOOM sessions.

You will benefit most when you have engaged in a little thought preparation prior to first session and haven’t physically overdone ‘things’ beforehand,
i.e., you haven’t schedule more than one major activity that day.

There is usually homework in-between sessions to maximise the benefit to you.

No reports provided, however, a progress summary is included for you.

How long does a session take?

50-minutes per session and 10 minutes administration on a weekly or fortnightly basis for up to five sessions, negotiable.

Notice of cancellation is required within 48-hours, via phone/text message, or charges apply.
